
Chamber Singers Spring Concert
The Arkansas Chamber Singers Spring Concert, Masters of Masters in the Hall, will be held 7:30 p.m. March 9 at St. James United Methodist Church. The event will be a spectacular presentation with full orchestra. It is dedicated to B. Lecil Gibson, whose career as a master musician has given Central Arkansas a lifetime of inspired performances.
The Chamber Singers will perform the Little Rock premiere of Berliner Mass by Arvo Part, excerpts from the Te Deum of Charpentier, and Bach's Magnificat with soloists Mary Ann Robinson, Suzanne Banister, Suzanne Loerch, Matt Newman, and Tim Bartlett. John Erwin is artistic director and conductor.
Advance concert tickets are $15 for adults, $10 for seniors and students. Tickets at the door are $18 for adults and $12 for seniors and students. Tickets may be purchased on line at ar-chambersingers.org or by calling 377-1121.
Spring Equinox Celebration
A Spring Equinox Celebration will be held March 17 at Toltec Mounds Archeological State Park in Scott.
The Plum Bayou Culture built the unique mound complex
more than 1,000 years ago. Starting at 4 p.m., there will be a Native American tools and weapons demonstration. At 5 p.m., the resident archeologist will make a presentation about how the mounds are arranged to coincide with solar events. Following the presentation, park interpreters will give a tour of the mound site to observe the sunset in alignment with Mound A.Admission is $4 for adults, $3 for kids ages 6 to 12, and free for youngsters under age 6. Family Fishing at Pinnacle
A family fishing cruise will be held March 19 at Jolly Roger's Marina in Pinnacle Mountain State Park.
Bring your own gear and bait, and the park will supply the guide, party barge, and life jackets. Ages 16 and older must have a valid Arkansas fishing license.

Peanuts

For almost 50 years, Charles Schulz wowed fans around the globe with Peanuts.
Utilizing his endearing characters, Mr. Schultz explored a broad range of emotions - from friendship and faith to tolerance and disappointment.
The Life and Art of Charles M. Schulz will be presented at the William F. Laman Public Library in North Little Rock from March 30 to May 13.
The exhibit contains reproduction comic strips and preliminary sketches following the development of his characters. Included are quotes from him about his art.
Admission is free. 758-1720. The exhibit was organized by the Charles M. Schulz Museum in Santa Rosa, California.
Sally Wolff-King Lecture
Sally Wolff-King will discuss her book, Ledgers Of History: William Faulkner, an Almost Forgotten Friendship, and an Antebellum Diary, noon March 15 in Sturgis Hall at the Clinton School of Public Service.
Ms. Wolff-King, a professor of Southern literature at Emory University, was working on a book based on conversations with acquaintances of Faulkner. She met Dr. Edgar Francisco whose father was a close friend of Faulkner and who owned a mid-1800s, 1,800-page ledger that Faulkner read and took notes on as a child.

Little Rock Marathon
Come and celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Little Rock Marathon March 4 in the River Market District at President Clinton Avenue and Sherman Street.
It's a "race for every pace." Walk or run and enjoy the Marathon, the Half Marathon and a new 10k running and walking tour through the scenic streets of Little Rock.
Start times for the Marathon are: 6 a.m. for marathoners needing more than six hours; 7:55 a.m. for folks using wheelchairs, hand cycles or who are physically challenged; 8 a.m. general start. The Half Marathon and 10k start times are 7:55 a.m. for wheelchairs and 8 a.m. general. Start time for the 5k is 8 a.m.

The Little Rockers Kids Marathon
The Little Rockers Kids Marathon will be held noon March 3 in the River Market.
The event gives children ages 7 to 12 the opportunity to participate in a 25.2 mile marathon over several months prior to race day by running, walking or jogging. Cantrell Gallery Opening Night Reception for Danial Coston

Eggshibition XXI
Eggshibition XXI will be held 7 p.m. March 30 at the Jack Stephens Center at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock.
