Spring Tour
"Garden Artistry" is the theme of this year's Spring Garden Tour.
The eleventh annual tour sponsored by the Greater Little Council of Garden Clubs will be held 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. April 30 and 1 - 5 p.m. May 1st.
It will take you on an odyssey of nine private gardens in close proximity in North Little Rock, as well as The Old Mill, a site on the National Register of Historic Places.
"There will be garden 'art' everywhere, such as bonsai, sculpted trees, geometric grass patterns, water features, garden sculpture of every medium and beautiful stone retaining walls and pathways," Rosemary Arnold of the council said.
"Most of this sits lakeside," she said. "The gardens are from three to 44 years in the making. There will be ideas galore for visitors to take home to their own gardens, and garden club members and Master Gardeners will be on hand to guide and answer questions."
Tickets are $20 in advance, $25 the day of tour, and free for children under age 14. Additional information is available from Hillcrest Hall, 663-7515. Tickets may be obtained there or from many Central Arkansas garden centers and flower shops.
